Friends, Family, Food, and a Fun Evening

We enjoyed a little reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season as we shared a wonderful evening with Jan & John and Jack & Joanie Pferdner.   The Pferdners were on a humanitarian mission in New Zealand when we arrived as 'greenies'.  They showed us 'the ropes' of living in NZ and on Saturdays took us to see our first glimpses of that country paradise.  On one of our first adventures, we were walking along one of the many spectacularly beautiful beaches we saw that day, (EVERY beach in NZ is pristine and beautiful), and a pod (?) of dolphins swam close to shore to welcome us!  Here's a memory photo........

This is a Test.....I Can Do it!!!!

I can't tell you how hard it is for me to post these first photos on my new blog.  Let me just say, as much as I like my iphone, it is NOT a camera, and I've got to keep telling myself, content is king, photo quality is not important here!

My first several posts will be memories of this holiday season.  It was extra special being with our family and friends this year, especially since last year there were just the two of us.  We were thrilled when Jaron & Michelle were able to spend Thanksgiving in Utah.  Here we are at the Cheesecake factory for our annual Thanksgiving girl's night out.  (The boys also had their annual boy's day out, but while ours involved food, visiting and laughter, theirs involved guns, bullets, and blowing stuff up!)

We had our Thanksgiving dinner several days after Thanksgiving to accommodate everyone's busy schedules.

Barrett is definitely not happy and Bennett looks like he's been drinking too much holiday punch, but here we are with an incomplete group of grandchildren.   Gavin's bunny joined us and shortly after this day we traveled to Arizona and visited with Sabrina, Vanessa and Isaac.

Kay Lynn and Lindsey came to visit and we had another fun girl's lunch.

We also had a fun Larsen Christmas party, but alas, I have no photos.  I forgot the first rule of photography.....you can't take pictures if you don't bring your camera!
