Happy 8th Birthday Gavin!
It is hard to believe that it has been eight years since we lost little Gavin. But he is not lost! We know where he is. He is not forgotten and we remember him always. Sawyer knows he has a big brother and talks about Gavin often, as we all do. How comforting to know that his eternal life is secure; we know who he'll be associating with! We can only pray and hope we will live worthy enough to be with him some day.
We went to his grave and took a few photos:
Then we had Sunday dinner and dessert:
Notice the green whipping cream. Green was Gavin's favorite color.
Crew liked the green whipping cream!
We had a small group for Sunday dinner, but we had a great time celebrating Gavin's birthday here while Jaron & Michelle and Michelle's family celebrated in Arizona.

Mother's Day Dinner
Jeff
took me out for an early Mother's Day dinner last night. I'm usually
not much of a beef person, except on special occasions, but we went to a
steak house that reminded us of our time on the tiny island of New
Caledonia in the South Pacific. In NC, not only could we order the cut
of meat we wanted, but also whether it came from NC, New Zealand,
Australia, or the US. We don't speak French, and so when our steaks
came out totally RAW, we thought there had been a miscommunication in
how we wanted them cooked. We quickly realized they were sizzling on a
very hot rock and we were to cook them ourselves. That meal was so good
we went back 3 times on that trip! We were surprised to find a similar
type of steak house a few miles from our home in southern Utah. So
here is my filet mignon 'on the rock', that I cooked to perfection!
Yummm!

Fun Weekend with the Kimballs
We had a great, although too short, weekend with the Kimballs. They came to visit us in Santa Clara, and arrived late Friday night.....but not to late to go swimming in our neighborhood pool for an hour before it closed. Saturday was spent RZR riding, eating pizza and junk food, and more swimming. Then we topped the day off by going to a Brian Regan concert at Tuacahn that evening. So funny and clean. Not one swear word! Sunday came way too soon and after church they left for home, taking a side trip through Emery. (I managed to take only one photo with my iphone while they were here. I can't believe how tall Taylor is now, and I think his voice is going to be as deep as his Dad's!)
